Peanut Butter Bites

Combine 4 common pantry staples, plus raisins or nuts if available, and you have a high protein snack made from long shelf life ingredients.

 

Ingredient list for 30 Protein Bites:

2/3 cup honey

1 cup peanut butter (plain or crunchy)

1 cup non-fat dry milk crystals

1 cup crushed granola or Kashi Cinnamon Crumble Cereal

½ cup raisins (optional)

½ cup your favorite nuts (optional)

Powdered milk and crushed cereal to coat

Equipment needed:

Medium mixing bowl

Wooden spoon

Measuring cup

Sandwich size zip lock bag

Step by step directions:

1.            Pour granola or kasha cereal into zip lock bag and crush with bottom of measuring cup or peanut butter jar.

 2.                   Put honey, peanut butter, non-fat dry milk crystals, and crushed cereal in medium bowl.

3.                   Mix well.

 4.            Stir in raisins.

 5.            Shape dough into small balls and roll in crushed cereal or powdered milk to coat.

 6.       Set aside 20 minutes to firm.  Yields: 30
