Morale Boosting Peach Cobbler

Cookout Peach Cobbler

A Simple Peach Cobbler made with long shelf life ingredients from the pantry and cooked on the survival grill for a boost in morale during bad times.

 

Ingredients for Peach Cobbler:

Two 15 oz. cans peaches packed in 100% juice

One 7 oz. package Martha White Cinnamon Sugar Muffin Mix

Six tbsp. extra light olive oil

One envelope 1.5 oz. packet of maple & brown sugar instant oatmeal

1/2 cup chopped nuts (we used pecans)

 Peach Cobbler Fixins

Equipment needed:

Two quart all stainless or all enamel sauce pan with lid

Can opener, if you do not have pop top cans

Spoon

Heavy duty oven mitt or hot pad

Baking thermometer

2 cup measuring cup

Step by step directions:

1.       Pour both cans of peaches into 2 quart sauce pan and place on the grill to heat over medium heat.   Meanwhile, stir together muffin mix and instant oatmeal and oil in measuring cup.

2.    Add pecans.

Mixed Up

3.       Crumble muffin mixture over peaches.

In the Pot

4.       Cook on covered grill for 35 – 45 minutes or until topping has a cake-like texture.

 Grill

5.    Serve piping hot, plain or topped with canned milk.  Serves 4 – 6.
